My friends describe me as loyal, my colleagues call me
dependable, and my boyfriend thinks I am sweet. My doctors too have a label for
me: “You are healthy,” they tell me and add, “Keep doing what you are doing.”
This advice always perplexes me, as whatever it is I am doing isn’t working so well for me. True, I am careful with my diet, exercise regularly (without overdoing it), and hardly ever get sick. But I am also infertile, and this is one descriptor I’d like to disown.

I have been trying to conceive for nearly a decade. After
four intrauterine insemination (IUI) procedures, two of which resulted in
pregnancy (one chemical, the other lasting 18 weeks), I decided to try in vitro
fertilization (IVF). Want to know the results? Please visit my posts, and let’s
compare notes.
I recognize that each individual’s response to infertility
treatments and pregnancy is unique, but reading the posts of other wanna-be
moms has helped ease my anxieties many a time. I hope this blog does the same
for you too.
